New York Times: Over the past 8 months, investigators have discovered over 15 cases of girls who were raped, threatened with violence and forced into prostitution. Pimps recruited girls at local high school and middle schools with promises of cash or romance. Eight people have been indicted on charges that include sex trafficking or promoting prostitution and the District Attorney is creating a Sex Trafficking Unit in response to the investigation.
