India, Brazil and South Africa, known collectively as the IBSA, issued a joint statement, which highlights their commitment to democratic values and to strengthening their cooperation in several fields.
Among other issues, the leaders reaffirmed the importance of promoting gender equality by empowering women, increasing their participation in economic activities, and promoting and implementing policies to fight gender discrimination. They also emphasized the need to continue to strengthen international human rights law, in order to eliminate other forms of discrimination, such as racism and xenophobia.
