As many of you know, today I have stepped aside as President of the National Council for Research on Women and passed the baton to Aine Duggan, our impressive new President, about whom you have just received a press release.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your superb support over the almost 16 years of my leadership; we accomplished a great deal together, building a potent mix of research, collaboration and advocacy. We have many achievements we can look to together, the result of the teamwork of our Board, Staff, and Interns over the years, and our many partnerships -- with our Member Centers, Corporate Circle, Presidents Circle, Presidents Advisory Council, our Donors and so many of you.
I'm proud of the smooth leadership transition we've created, which reflects the commitment and active involvement of our Board, Staff and Aine Duggan, our new leader. And I'm so pleased that the Board has invited me to remain connected to the Council as President Emerita.
At the end of January 2013, I will begin a year's fellowship in Harvard's Advanced Leadership Initiative, a program for a cohort of 20 individuals with "over 20 years leadership experience with demonstrated innovation and achievement in their careers," and will be in Cambridge Tuesday through Thursday every week. I look forward to continuing my relationship with many of you in my new capacities. For the time being, you can reach me at my same email address: firstname.lastname@example.org .
