Study of Rabbinic Compensation by Gender

 This Study of Rabbinic Compensation by Gender is undertaken by the Central Conference of American Rabbis (“CCAR”) as a service to CCAR rabbis and all the congregations, organizations and communities which they serve and in furtherance of the Reform Movement’s long-standing commitment to economic justice.

This study relies upon the data collected in the 2010-2011 Study of Rabbinic Compensation. That study was conducted by an independent actuarial firm, Buck Consulting, LLC, a Xerox Company (“Buck”), with the assistance of the Reform Pension Board (“RPB”), for the CCAR in partnership with the Union for Reform Judaism (“URJ”). Gender material for this study was computed and analyzed by Mayeri Research/The Internet Poll (New York).

Invisible Market Energy and Agricultural Technologies for Women's Economic Advancement

This research explores what it takes for technology initiatives, specifically in the energy and agricultural sectors, to reach and economically benefit women in developing countries through market-based strategies that have the potential for achieving scale and financial sustainability. It builds on ICRW’s landmark paper, Bridging the Gender Divide: How Technology Can Advance Women Economically, which made the case for how technologies can create pathways for strengthening women’s economic opportunities.

Significance of the gender divide in financial services — New Zealand results

New research from Finsia shows that companies need to make good on their stated commitment to promote gender equity.

The research findings were announced today in conjunction with the Bank of New Zealand, which is also launching a new industry body, Women in Financial Services Forum, in partnership with Finsia.Finsia chief executive Russell Thomas said, “This is the first New Zealand snap shot on gender diversity dedicated to the finance industry. It follows on from earlier research that Finsia conducted in 2010 and shows that the New Zealand situation is broadly similar to that in Australia.” BNZ, which partnered with Finsia to undertake the New Zealand component of the research, are today announcing the creation of a new industry association, the Women in Financial Services Forum.

Unveiling the Revolutionaries: Cyberactivism and Women’s Role in the Arab Uprisings

Over the course of 2011’s momentous Arab Spring uprisings, young women in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Bahrain and Yemen used social media and cyberactivism to carve out central roles in the revolutionary struggles under way in their countries, according to a new study commissioned by Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy.
